A BTC holiday in Costa Rica goes fiat free

Holiday

Passport, sunglasses, beach towel and Bitcoin (BTC)? A BTC enthusiast on vacation demonstrated that the world’s largest cryptocurrency could soon become a holiday essential. Eugenio, a Costa Rican Bitcoin maximalist, paid his way on holiday with just Bitcoin in his wallet during a long weekend on Costa Rica’s Pacific coast.

A hotspot for Bitcoin adoption and real-life whale spotting, the towns of Uvita, Dominical and Ojochal are home to Bitcoin Jungle, a Bitcoin-beach-inspired project, as well as a budding community of Bitcoin-friendly merchants. Eugenio documented his entire Bitcoin holiday to the destination on Twitter. He told Cointelegraph, “The only fiat I had to use was filling the tank [of the car] before leaving.”

That’s the Q founder, Kevin Brittingham’s, vision for the 8.6 Blackout cartridge. And even though it has started as a wildcat, the new cartridge has already taken big game and factory ammo is becoming available.

8.6 Blackout Basics

The 8.6 Blackout uses a .338-inch-diameter bullet in a shortened 6.5 Creedmoor case. It can be shot at super and subsonic velocities.

“We settled on shortening up the 6.5 Creedmoor case because it’s a little more efficient than the .308 case,” says

Iowa Hunter Tags 20-Point Buck, Recovers It with His Wife

Vacation

After Chuck Grado made the shot on a nearly 200-inch whitetail last month, his mind went straight to his wife, Ruth Macke. Sitting alone in a treestand in the fading light, he typed out a cryptic, nerve-rattled text: “30+her Byckr Hera. <omE now. 4 Bucks here.”

Ruth, who was back at their home in Cedar Rapids, saw the text and figured he was still shaking in the stand. She wouldn’t see the buck herself until the following morning, but she already knew that whatever her husband had killed was special.

“I think your typos answered my question about shaking,” she replied.

The Hunt for the 20-Point Buck

It was the day after Thanksgiving, and Grado had been in the stand all afternoon by the time the 20-point buck stepped into view. Perched in an oak tree over a well-worn game trail between the river bottom and a wheat field, he’d
